May 7 is a significant date for the people of our country. On this day, we bring back to memory the chronicle of the heroic exploits of the people of Kazakhstan with a great affection, and we are proud of continuity of our traditions of serving the Fatherland. 

At all times military service has been a sacred duty, a matter of honour, a school of courage and dedication for every citizen. Soldiers of our days display heroism in peacetime as well by performing combat missions and protecting law and order. Thus, they make a substantial contribution to strengthening the defence capabilities of our independent Kazakhstan.

Today's representatives of the Armed Forces of the country are worthy successors of the older generation, our glorious fathers, grandfathers and great-grandfathers, who earned a victory in bloodshed battles on the fronts of Great Patriotic War at the cost of the unfadable act of courage. 

On May 9, we will kneel down and pay tribute to the memory of the heroes who won the war. Thanks to their courage, stamina and bravery, we live today under the peaceful skies, build, work, and raise our children. May the memory of those who died on the battlefields and those who worked hard behind the lines and raised the country from the ruins live on forever.
